Credential Seeking Students
Credential Seeking Students are students looking to earn a degree or a certificate at Triton College.
Step 1. Get Admitted
- Review Courses & College Catalog
- Review Tuition and Fees
- Create an account. Select the First Time College Student admit type and submit the application.
- Download your admission letter under My Applications.
- Click View next to your completed application.
- Click Download under the Decision Letter column.
- Apply for Financial Aid (Recommended)
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid - Triton College School Code: 001773
OR

- Complete the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid - Intended for qualifying undocumented students.
Step 2. Get Registered
- Determine if you need to take a Placement Test.
- New first year students may be exempt from the placement test by demonstrating college-level proficiency through qualifying SAT scores or high school GPA. Both qualifiers need to be within the last 2 years. Please refer to Triton College’s Placement Test Information for New Students document to determine if you need to take a placement test.
- If you are exempt, you will need to send your unofficial transcripts and test scores
to transcripts@triton.edu.

- If you are not exempt, you will need to take an ACCUPLACER placement test(s). Book your placement test(s) here.
- Meet with an Academic Advisor
- Register for classes via
- Online through the MyTriton portal
- If you already know the course and section number you can register through the Welcome
Center.
- In person at the Welcome Center in the B Building.
- Email the Welcome Center at registration@triton.edu.
- Call the Welcome Center at 708-456-0300, Ext. 3130.
Step 3. Get Ready
- Log in to MyTriton Portal.
- Pay Tuition
- Pay in Full
- Use the Nelnet Tuition Payment Plan.
- Log in to your Triton College Email and set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- View your schedule.
- Pay Tuition
- Get your Student ID at the Welcome Center in the B Building. It will be available 48 hours after registration.
- Complete New Student Orientation.
