President Moore

Mary-Rita Moore has served as President of Triton College since November 2015, bringing more than 40 years of dedicated service to the institution. Throughout her career at Triton, she has remained deeply committed to student success, beginning on the front lines of enrollment and academic advising.

As Associate Dean of Student Services and later Dean of Enrollment Services, President Moore expanded her impact by helping countless students pursue their educational goals. In these leadership roles, she introduced innovative strategies to improve student retention and completion rates, while collaborating closely with faculty and administrators to streamline and strengthen the registration process. Her longstanding dedication and student-centered leadership continue to shape Triton College’s mission and growth.

In 2012, she was appointed Associate Vice President of Strategic Planning, overseeing the Center for Teaching Excellence, as well as the Research & Institutional Effectiveness and Technology & Innovation departments. In this role, she led the development of Triton College’s seven-year strategic plan and played an integral part in the institution’s 2013 Higher Learning Commission reaffirmation process.

Through President Mary-Rita Moore’s transformational leadership over the years, the institution has strengthened its academic excellence and national standing, securing a 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), attaining the designation as an Achieving the Dream (ATD) 2026 Leader College for its commitment to student success & equitable outcomes, and earning recognition as an eligible college for the 2027 Aspen Prize among the nation’s top 200 community colleges.

President Moore maintains deep roots in Triton’s district. A native of the Village of Norridge, she is a graduate of Ridgewood High School and earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Dominican University in River Forest.

Recognized for her innovative leadership, President Moore has implemented technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the “front door” experience for students and their families. She is especially committed to mentoring emerging leaders and fostering meaningful community engagement to advance and integrate student success initiatives across the Triton College campus.
